This year, we would like to close #BlackMaternalHealthWeek with @the_naabb's Black Birthing Bill of Rights. Created in 2020, the Bill of Rights is “a resource for individuals to become knowledgeable of their rights as a Black person in need of maternal care. It also serves as guidance to engage hospitals, health providers, government health agencies and others to change/improve their ethic, policies, and delivery approach to serving Black women and persons throughout the birthing process.” You can find the Black Birthing Bill of Rights on the NAAB's website (also linked in our bio), as well as in the following slides.
And a big THANK YOU to everyone who participated in this year’s #BMHW21. It is our hope that this week will inspire you to the 《 CONTINUE 》the national conversation surrounding Black maternal health, 《 AMPLIFY 》 community-driven policies, 《 CENTER 》the voices of Black Mamas, 《 PROVIDE 》 the platform for Black-led efforts, and 《 SUPPORT 》 community organizing moving forward. You can also give support to @blackmamasmatter by following them on Instagram/social media, sharing their resources with a friend, or donating to their organization or creating a fundraiser of your own here: mightycause.com/organization/Black-Mamas-Matter-Alliance
