A body scan is a meditation that focuses attention on physical sensations in the body. The practice is completed by “scanning” one’s awareness through the body from head to toe. Attention is given to each inch of the body.
In my experience, body scans help to calm and ground. They also help me to accept (without judgement) and love my body.
Many meditations that I’ve heard over the years have been created by non-Black folks, folks who aren’t BIPOC at all. (Check out @liberatemeditation. They have an amazing app for BIPCO folks).
I wanted to create audio meditation ro other Black folks because we serve to hear meditations created by us with our hearts in mind.
