How To Calm Birthing Anxiety

A few Black moms have expressed to me that they have anxiety about labor & birthing. Some due to fear of pain, others due past birthing trauma & others simply due to birthing while Black in hospitals.

Here are a few things I feel will help relieve some of the the intense fear around laboring:

🔺Talk with a trusted friend/support person about birthing anxiety.

🔺Find, write and say birthing affirmations to calm you.

🔺Create rampages (audio recordings) about your ideal birth & listen to them daily.

🔺Write a self care plan to manage anxiety. Put it where you can see it.

🔺Seek therapy/professional support.
